Volunteer!
Village Gardens can use volunteers on occasion. Because our projects are led by residents of our communities, we often have most of our volunteer needs already covered but please check here for postings on current volunteer needs.
Food Works Farm Volunteer Groups - Food Works youth farm plans to host volunteer groups of 10 to 20 volunteers each Saturday this spring from 10am to 2pm. Volunteer groups will have the opportunity to join Food Works youth leaders in their work seeding, planting, weeding, and maintaining their Sauvie Island Farm. Please contact Sara at sweihmann@janusyouth.org to coordinate a volunteer group or fill out our online volunteer group registration form.
Food Works Summer Volunteer Intern Positions – Food Works is recruiting interns for summer 2013. Do you have a passion for cooking, empowering young leaders, growing sustainable farms, marketing organic produce, or teaching job and academic skills to teenagers? If you answered yes, then you we’ve got the volunteer internship for you. Food Works is currently accepting applications for the following volunteer internship positions: (please download a position description)

Help the ongoing success of Village Gardens by shopping with us! Visit the Village Market in North Portland or look for Food Works Produce. Food Works youth can be found at the Portland Farmer’s Market at PSU, and the St. Johns Farmer’s Market on Saturdays during the summer. Food Works products can also be purchased at the New Seasons Market Arbor Lodge store on N Interstate and at the Village Market. You can also support Food Works by becoming a CSA Member.

Village Gardens is implementing a diverse range of fundraising strategies through the end of 2012. We are looking for qualified, motivated and enthusiastic individuals interested in developing skills in fundraising campaigns while working with a vibrant and diverse community. Fundraising Assistants can work remotely with the expectation that occasional on-site meetings occur and consistent communication occur weekly. We are seeking individuals who are able to volunteer a total of 10-20 hours a week.
