Community Engagement Coordinator (applications due March 4th @ 5pm)
The Community Engagement Coordinator will work to develop a robust community engagement and leadership development structure to support adult participants to engage in effective community organizing around the production and consumption of healthy and nutritious food. Program development efforts of this position will involve helping to create program structures to more fully integrate health and nutrition activities and build the capacity of adult leaders to guide program evolution.
Distribution and Outreach Coordinator (applications due March 4th @ 5pm)
This person is responsible for coordinating and carrying through all the food distribution and marketing for Village Gardens programs. This person will collaborate with program leads, youth and adult participants at Food Works, Village Market, and Community Programs to ensure produce harvests reach appropriate market venues on time and in excellent condition. This person will develop additional market venues along with coordinating Village Garden (Food Works and Market Gardeners) produce distribution directly to Village Market and VG’s Farmers Market. This person will facilitate skill sharing and trainings to develop best practices for harvesting fresh produce and bringing it to market in great condition.

Food Works Farm Volunteer Groups – Volunteer groups will have the opportunity to join Food Works youth leaders in their work seeding, planting, weeding, and maintaining their Sauvie Island Farm. Village Market Store – What Are Your Special Talents & Skills? Village Market needs you! You! Your muscle, willing hands, and organizing skill! Your nice smile, ideas, or heart-warming soup! Help us stock shelves, count inventory, and sparkle up pans, Make sure the milk’s chill and the onions don’t stink! Have a blast! Cook! Learn stuff! Make new friends, do good work! Help out just 3 hours a week and earn a discount on store purchases for a month. We are looking for neighbors, customers, and food lovers to join the Village Market in providing quality, fresh, healthy, affordable groceries to New Columbia and it’s neighbors.. Help the ongoing success of Village Gardens by shopping with us! Visit the Village Market in North Portland or look for Food Works Produce. Food Works youth can be found at the Portland Farmer’s Market at PSU, and the St. Johns Farmer’s Market on Saturdays during the summer. Food Works products can also be purchased at the New Seasons Market Arbor Lodge store on N Interstate and at the Village Market. You can also support Food Works by becoming a CSA Member.
