Village Gardens is hiring a Community Programs Manager! The position responsibilities include overall management of adult-led programs at Village Gardens including community gardens and livestock projects, community health worker programming, microenterprise development, and adult leadership support. Specifically, the Community Programs Manager will work to develop a robust Community Health Worker program and implement a tiered leadership structure to support adult participants to engage in effective community health promotion and organizing. Program development efforts of this position will involve helping to more fully integrate health promotion and food production activities and building capacity of adult leaders to guide and direct future program growth. The Community Programs Manager supervises the full-time Community Organizer, and a group of Community Health Worker volunteers. Food Works Farm Volunteer Groups – Food Works youth farm plans to host volunteer groups of 10 to 20 volunteers each Saturday this spring from 10am to 2pm. Volunteer groups will have the opportunity to join Food Works youth leaders in their work seeding, planting, weeding, and maintaining their Sauvie Island Farm.
